ISO 9001:2015 Certification at Vallorbs
ISO 9001:2015 Certification at Vallorbs (VJC)
An assessment to the new ISO 9001:2015 standard was performed by 2 auditors from LRQA (Lloyds Register Quality Assurance), Nov. 14-17. We are proud to announce that Vallorbs Jewels Company (VJC) has been recommended to receive the new ISO certificate.
Transitioning from the current ISO 9001:2008 to the new 9001:2015 standard involved revisions to, or creating new, documented information. Preparing took many months and required much input from management and many other employees.
Several new requirements were added to the Quality Management System which included understanding the context of the organization and expectations of interested parties, actions to address risk and opportunities, improvement, organizational knowledge, management of change.
The auditors stated that they were impressed with VJC’s strengths, which included commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction, identifying risk and opportunities, timeliness of corrective actions taken, the continual improvement program (i.e. internal/external communication, Lean events, equipment, sales to diversify customer base, etc.) and documented management of change. Also per the auditors, these programs/processes, along with thorough and comprehensive internal audits and management review meetings, resulted in a smooth transition to the new standard.
There were no Findings (non-conformances). VJC received 1 Recommendation (draw shadows around tools on the setup cart tool board in Primary Operations) and 1 concern, which was already recorded on VJC’s Risk ID and Analysis Register, prior to the assessment by P. Risser and K. Rinier.
Certification to the 2015 standard could not have been possible without much effort and input from the entire VJC team.
